Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bellport

Committees and Groups

Here at the UUFB, we pride ourselves in being able to offer many opportunities for you to join a wide variety of groups and committees that will allow you to get involved outside of service. Below is a quick list of some of the programs and groups we offer that, as a member of our congregation, you can join and participate in.

The Social Action Committee
Meets the first Sunday of every month following service. The Social Action Committee using nonviolent methods will address local and global issues that threaten the peace and dignity of every person. See attached flyer for more information. Download the group's flyer. See the Events page (or the Other UU Events page) for events for the Social Action Committee.

Women in Black (Bellport and Sayville)
Join a group of dedicated women and men who help bring awareness to the peace and support of soldiers in foreign wars. Vigils are held on corners in Bellport and Sayville. See Ongoing Events for more information.

UUFB Book Discussion Group
Meets monthly on a Friday, 6:30pm, to share a potluck and discuss novels and other fiction by prominent authors. Contact Chris Filstrup for more information. Check out our Events page for the most current schedule and book.

The Caring Committee
This group of wonderful people help support the members of our Congregation in times of need. Members send notes of condolences, support, and caring to our members in times of crisis. They are the caring heart of our Congregation.
